The Tenth of 12 Westerns: Director’s Note
There’s a good argument to be made that in a year of challenging productions, this two punch combo of feature films (The Wilderness Road and its companion piece Tales of the Natchez Trace) may have been our most ambitious undertaking and altogether the most difficult. Though less intense than Deputy’s Wife, we faced some incredible obstacles on these two: trying to be accurate to a totally different time period with unique and hard to find wardrobe, locations spread out over four states, the six week long shooting schedule, the continued and progressed battle with COVID, and the sheer size of this epic tale.
