12 Westerns: National Casting Call for JONATHAN – Male Co-Lead in SHE WAS THE DEPUTY’S WIFE

We are excited to announce a national casting call for Jonathan, the male co-lead role in our Western SHE WAS THE DEPUTY’S WIFE.

This is a paid role and this will be a SAG project. Submissions are accepted from anywhere in the U.S.

All video submissions are due October 19th by the end of day. Please read all the guidelines and the description of Jonathan below:

 

Jonathan

  • Age Range: 30 to 40
  • Ethnicity: non-specific, we are open to all races/ethnicities
  • Physical Attributes: fit, attractive, stoic, sensitive.
  • Skills (not required but certainly preferred): horse riding, combat training, experience with firearms.
  • Description of Jonathan: He is the town’s deputy, a good simple man with a strong sense of fairness. Jonathan married Mabel but they have never been close or passionate. Though they have a stable marriage, he is not truly aware of his wife’s needs or desires. Forced into a difficult and dangerous situation, Jonathan’s dedication and love for Mabel is tested more than he ever could have imagined.

Submission rules

  • Please prepare and perform all three scenes provided in the hyperlinks below:
  • We are accepting submissions from both Non-Union and Union actors. Talent will be paid $125 a day if cast in the role.
  • Production will take place in Arizona during March 2020. Talent will be provided meals during production and lodging if they are not local.
  • As stated above, we are accepting submissions from anywhere in the U.S. but any local talent will be given special consideration.
  • Video must be shared with us via a downloadable source, preferably Vimeo but you may also send via Google Drive, Dropbox, and WeTransfer.
  • Video audition must include a slate introduction with your name, where you’re located, and any special skills you have pertaining to this film.
  • Actors have two weeks to submit their videos. All submissions due October 19th by the end of day.

      Hi, my name Rene Andrew Maldonado. I go by Andy.
      I’m a re-enactor in both Tombstone Arizona and in Virginia City Nevada.
      I’ve been doing reenactment shows for 7 years off and on and have appeared in the movie dead men the series, That was filmed at Gammons gulch in Arizona.
      I’m a 50 year old individual who can pass from anywhere between the ages of 35 and 45 maybe even younger if I shave or dye my hair but I’m very interested in this part and if you can use me I’ll be glad to partake in this movie.

      Just follow the 12 Westerns page for opportunities that you would fit. I can’t keep track of every actor. You all have to follow the project and submit.

    I’m an actor from Central City Colorado, and would really like to be a part of your production. I have a group of cowboys called the Central City Wild Bunch, and perform shows all around Colorado, and sometimes out of state. My cowboys and myself have all the clothing, and reenactment pistols for the era. Thank you

      Great. Most of our filming is in Arizona and Mississippi but we’re considering doing one of the films in Colorado.

    I unfortunately am a day late in seeing this casting. Is it a firm Oct 19 cutoff for submissions? Sounds like such a great project.
