Exciting News!
I have been hired to direct a remake of the early John Wayne Western BLUE STEEL. Pre-production has already started and filming takes place next month near Benson, Arizona. Please read ALL details below if you are interested in being involved.
First off, keep in mind this may be a remake of a John Wayne movie but I still have only been given a low budget to work with. I’ll be looking for as much help as I can to pull this ambitious project off. Send all submissions and questions via email to travismills@runningwildfilms.com AFTER you read all the details below. Casting:
LEAD ROLE – JOHN CARRUTHERS
-20s – 30s, Handsome and in good shape
-Must be able to ride a horse
-Some acting experience required
-Available May 19th through June 2nd
-Travel/meals/lodging provided. Additional small compensation possible
-Open to actors outside of Arizona
-Please send your headshot or pictures of yourself plus acting clips or a reel if you have.
OUTLAW RIDERS
-Any adult age, any race, men only.
-Must be able to ride a horse well, comfortable at a gallop
-Will play outlaws with featured screen time in riding/action sequences, some with speaking roles
-If you can bring your own horse, we can discuss reasonable compensation per horse per day
-Otherwise, offering gas compensation, meals, and credit in the movie for all outlaw riders.
SUPPORTING ROLES AND BACKGROUND EXTRAS
-I’m casting several speaking parts, male and female. These would be required for 1-3 days of filming tops. It would be unpaid, for credit in the film and meals on set. People with acting experience and their own Western wardrobe will be given precedence. Your shoot dates will be between May 19th and June 2nd. I will be able to provide firm shoot dates in the next 1-2 weeks. When you email, include your availability during that time period and pictures of yourself.
-I will also have a few days to include background extras. You must have your own Western wardrobe for this. You’ll receive credit in the film and a meal on set if you work for more than six hours.
FILM CREW (Paid Positions):
DP – I am still considering options for my cinematographer. Please submit your resume and reel if interested. Compensation details will be sent when I reply.
SOUND – I need a boom operator/production sound mixer for the duration of the shoot. Please send details about your sound experience. Preference will be given to those who own equipment. Compensation details will be sent when I reply.
MAKEUP – Looking for a makeup artist for the duration of the shoot. Please submit your resume and reel if interested. Compensation details will be sent when I reply.
