We have announced another of the 12 Westerns and this means we are returning to Mississippi to bring another true story to the screen.
Earlier this year, we optioned the rights to adapt Don Simonton’s manuscript LET THE DEVIL OUT. His book tells the story of Texas Red, a black man who was hunted by hundreds of men though the Winter wilderness of Mississippi. The photograph below was taken after he was killed and his body was put on display.
It’s an intense, fascinating, and shocking story that explores racial tension and different perspectives in the American South.Don and I are currently working on the script together.
