As many of you know, we completed production on our fifth feature film, DUEL AT THE MOUND, April 30th. The film is a baseball-themed drama set for release Fall 2014.
But what’s next for Running Wild Films and our partner company 5J Media? Just a few projects… Here is a breakdown of our upcoming films to follow and look forward to:
VAN BUREN ANTHOLOGY
Have you ever seen Paris Je T’Aimes or New York Stories? Anthologies of short films focused on specific countries or cities have been a part of film for a long time. We thought we would try our hand at highlighting a specific part of Phoenix, the notorious Van Buren stretch of road known for crime and prostitution. Several short films will make up a feature length story set in this part of town.
DURANT’S NEVER CLOSES
Our sixth feature film will tell the story of local legend Jack Durant. We have optioned the books The Saga of Jack Durant, Jack’s World, and Mob Mole by Mabel Leo as well as the play In My Humble Opinion by Terry Earp. Our film, titled DURANT’S NEVER CLOSES will be an adaptation from these sources, focusing on the man who opened and ran the most famous steakhouse in Phoenix and was rumored to have many connections to the mafia.
12 WESTERNS IN 12 MONTHS
In the middle of 2015, we will begin filming our most ambitious project yet: 12 Western feature length films in 12 months. We are passionate about exploring this genre which we feel Arizona should and will lay claim to. Expect to here more about these films in the coming months. Here is a promo for the Westerns:
