In 2020, we are going to make 12 Western feature-length films in 12 Months. Crazy? Yes. Possible? Yes. Help us do it here on GoFundMe. Every dollar counts! One by one we are announcing what these Westerns will be and where they will be filmed. Stay tuned for more details.

The Second of Twelve Westerns – Blood Country: The Natchez Trace

We are proud to announce that the second of our 12 Westerns in 12 Months will be a film titled Blood Country: The Natchez Trace. The film is projected to start production in Mississippi during April of 2020. Our feature-length Western will tell a fictional story surrounding real life events and characters including the infamous land pirates Joseph Thompson Hare, Samuel Mason, and the Harpe Brothers (considered by many to be America’s first serial killers).

A depiction of the Harpe Brothers, looking quite peaceful compared to their violent history.

The script that I am currently writing is a “journey” film like The Warriors in which our protagonists must reach a safe destination, traveling the Natchez Trace in the early 1800s and encountering all of its dangers. You may wonder why the film is titled Blood Country like our most recent Mississippi-set Western adventure? No, this is not a direct prequel to our 2017 film however it is a continuation thematically. Blood Country: The Natchez Trace will continue to explore the history and foundation of violence in America, the search for true justice, and the nature of mankind.
